Deep breathing. I's quick and it works.
Breathing deeply and gently with awareness quickly connects your mind and body. It has the ability to affect how you feel and act throughout your day. Taking good care and your mind and body will bring you to balance and calm.
Next time you are feeling stressed or anxiety, try these 7 steps:
Step 1: Sit or lie down comfortably.
Step 2: Close your eyes and relax all the muscles of your face.
Step 3: Bring your attention to the rhythm of your breath.
Step 4: Follow your natural inhalation and exhalation. Let your breathing deepen and soften.
Step 5: Inhale through your nose as you count to four and allow your stomach to expand. Bring fresh energy to your mind and the cells of your body. Hold your breath for a count of four.
Step 6: As you slowly exhale through your mouth, count to four, release and relax your body. Allow your chest to open and expand, releasing anxiety, tension, stress and negative thoughts. Let go. Let go.
Step 7: Repeat the cycle of in four, hold four, out four. Do this eight times. Enjoy the calm and centered space you are now in. Repeat quietly ‘Everything is going to be okay’.
