Here are four tips and techniques to get moving and trust us, they work!

#1 CHANGE THINGS UP

Sometimes, losing our motivation is as simple as we have become complacent in our day-to-day lives. We find ourselves going through the motions and often times feeling uninspired because each day somehow feels the same. It’s definitely time to change things up.
What can you get excited about? What do you love to do but never create time for? How do you act when you feel your most fulfilled and healthy? What could you start doing now to bring those things back into your life? Those can and should be focused on as a way to step closer toward preparedness.

#2 UNDERSTANDING YOUR INTENTIONS

Knowing the intentions behind why you are doing something is critical for having the actual motivation for it. This is especially important for preparedness. If you truly want to be prepared then you will find a way to make it work.
Whatever it is that is keeping you from following through needs a chance to be answered. “Why do I want to be more prepared? And “How will following through on this improve my life?” These will give you your “why for doing the very critical steps of preparing. And they will motivate you instantly.

#3 BUILD ON TINY SUCCESSES

Whenever we start preparing we sometimes feel excited and motivated, which is great, but often times when we are excited we are also a little too optimistic about what we are going to be able to achieve. Then, when that excitement fades, we are left with a mammoth goal that doesn’t feel achievable and quite frankly is overwhelming.
Start small. Knowing your main focus is essential but how are you planning to get yourself there? Consider small steps, especially the Vital Steps and the Guidebook located in your Grab + Go Box. Consider what small steps you can take daily, weekly and monthly to help you achieve your long-term goal of preparedness. We will send you a weekly email with one step to complete. We promise to support you the entire way.

#4 ELIMINATE NEGATIVITY

When you want to achieve something, mindset is everything. Take the time to assess your mindset around achieving your preparedness goals.
Ask yourself these questions:
Do I feel positive about it?
Or do I find that I'm being hard on myself, feeling that it’s impossible or that I won’t have the willpower to follow through?
If you resonate with any of these, then it’s time for a mindset shift.
Start paying attention to your thoughts, particularly paying attention to negative ones. Then focus on the data in front of you. You might be thinking “I can’t do this” which means it’s time to ask yourself why. “Why can’t I do this, what proof do I have that this is unachievable?
Maybe you find yourself saying “there’s just no time this week Again, look at the data and ask why. Drill down to a deeper level with every answer. Why do I not have time? What am I choosing to do instead of prioritizing this?

These steps will get you there! We promise!
